Assassination squads now appear to be operating with impunity on the capital’s streets.
Bulent Kabala, 41, was driving a silver Mercedes when he pulled up outside some shops in Cockfosters. It’s believed some men then got out of a blue van and shot him – he died at the scene.
Police said: “Our investigation is in its early stages, but everything would suggest that this was a targeted ‘hit’.
“I want to build up a picture of why someone would have wanted to kill Bulent Kabala.
“Bulent was driving a silver Mercedes, which he had been using in his work as a Minicab driver. For some reason, Bulent appears to have got out of his car having started to negotiate a roundabout when a number of suspects got out of a blue van and several shots were fired, fatally wounding Bulent.
“The suspects then got back into the van and drove from the scene in the direction of Edgeworth Road, turning right into Park Road.”
It’s no secret that violent crime has spiralled. Across England and Wales there’s been a 27% increase in firearms offences, and Scotland Yard said gun crime has increased by 42% in the year ending April 2017.
This is why it’s so dangerous that the government is slashing police budgets. The Met is losing £413m and half of London’s police stations will close.
The streets are becoming a playground for criminals and the government is doing nothing to stop it.
